Citadel and its employees donated more than $90,000 to the United Way of Chester County in 2017.

Citadel’s Annual Campaign Raises Funds to Support Local Organizations 

EXTON, Pa.— Citadel has announced that collectively the company and its employees donated more than $90,000 to the United Way of Chester County – a grand total of $92,047. Citadel’s employee fundraising campaign, which is an annual effort, alone reached more than $49,000.

“Each year, Citadel employees get involved to help raise money for the United Way of Chester County and its affiliated local organizations. This truly is a team effort and part of our Citadel culture,” said Maria Steffy, Chief Financial Officer, Citadel. “Citadel is extremely dedicated to this cause because it helps many different organizations throughout our community.”

As a community-based financial institution, Citadel encourages employees to give their time and talent to assist corporate partner organizations or non-profits of personal choice. In 2017 alone, Citadel employees volunteered more than 455 hours to community organizations across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. The company has also donated an additional $100,000 to support organizations across the region.

As part of the annual campaign, Citadel employees voluntarily form teams to help raise money and awareness for a network of services that support education, financial independence, and health. In addition, Citadel sponsors United Way events throughout the year to contribute to the goal, and gives an additional corporate donation of $33,000.

“It is inspiring to see a company in our community, such as Citadel, that is so passionate about caring for and wanting to help those in need. It is truly ingrained in their company’s culture,” said Claudia Hellebush, CEO, United Way of Chester County. “We are extremely grateful for how much Citadel has done for us throughout the years, and we look forward to our continued partnership.”
