Citadel Country Spirit USA Three-Day Country Music Festival Postponed Until 2021
CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. – Citadel Country Spirit USA, a three-day country music festival scheduled Aug. 28 to Aug. 30 at Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show Grounds in Chester County’s Brandywine Valley, is postponed until next year.
The third annual Citadel Country Spirit USA festival will now take place Aug. 27 to 29, 2021 at the same location.
“We were hopeful the COVID-19 situation would improve significantly and rules would be relaxed enough for us to stage a spectacular event in August,” Alan Jacoby, executive producer of Impact Entertainment, said. “Unfortunately, the governor’s proclamation as well as health and safety circumstances beyond our control are prohibiting mass gatherings this summer.
“Our festivals are not social-distancing-oriented events. They are thousands and thousands of like-minded country music fans coming together for a big celebration. While disappointing for this year, we’re committed to producing a phenomenal fest in 2021.”
“The safety of our community is a top priority right now, and although we’re sad to not celebrate with everyone this year, we know it’s for the best given the circumstances,” said Jeff March, president and CEO, Citadel. “Everyone at Citadel is looking forward to a blast of an event in 2021!” Heralded as a Great American Festival Experience, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young and Brantley Gilbert were the headliners scheduled to perform in 2020. For the past two years, Citadel Country Spirit USA has featured more than 20 country music acts on two stages.
Hosted by the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau (CVB), approximately 20,000 fans from across the country attended the festival in August 2019. “Of course, our utmost concern is for the safety of our community, festival attendees and staff,” Susan Hamley, executive director of the CVB, said. “It’s wonderful to know that the festival is returning in 2021. There is certainly demand and will be even more so when we can all come together for the excitement, merriment, and uplifting energy of Citadel Country Spirit USA.
“We will be ready to welcome back this much-loved festival and those visiting Chester County for a full-on weekend experience of live country music performances and everything else this destination has to offer.”
