Why is my available balance different from my current balance?
Frequently Asked Question
Your current balance and available balance may not always match. This is normal and often happens when transactions are still being processed.
Current Balance
Your current balance is your account balance as of the end of the previous business day. It includes transactions that have fully posted to your account.
Available Balance
Your available balance is the amount of money you can use right now. It starts with your current balance and adjusts as transactions are processed.
Your available balance may include:
- Deposits that have been received and made available
- Posted payments and withdrawals
- Pending debit card purchases that have not fully posted yet
Why are the balances different?
The most common reason is pending transactions. For example, if you make a purchase with your debit card, the transaction may reduce your available balance immediately, even though it hasn't fully posted to your account yet.
Once pending transactions are finalized, your current balance and available balance will update accordingly.
