Bands from the Tri-State Area Will Compete to Perform at Citadel Country Spirit USA (CCUSA)

EXTON, Pa., July 8 2019 — Citadel has announced the ‘Rising Star’ band contest will return in 2019, giving area bands the chance to perform at Citadel Country Spirit USA. In addition, for the first time, the final bands will be invited to perform in a 2-day Citadel Rising Star LIVE ‘Battle of the Bands’ event held at Valley Forge Casino August 7-8.

The contest will award three artists or bands the chance to perform on the Citadel Rising Star stage at Citadel Country Spirit USA August 23-25 in addition to $1,000. Each artist or band that wins will perform two sets between Main Stage acts, which include headliners Billy Currington (Friday), Little Big Town (Saturday), and Old Dominion (Sunday). This year, the contest is open to acts from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware. To view the full lineup, visit CountrySpiritUSA.com.

One winner will perform Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday. In order to be eligible, the country artists must be from or frequently perform around the area’s ‘tri-states’ (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware). “We are thrilled to be hosting the second-annual Rising Star contest, giving local talent the opportunity to shine at Citadel Country Spirit USA,” said Jeff March, president and CEO, Citadel. “The entire event is a celebration of our community, so it only makes sense that we have local talent performing.”
