What is Mobile Deposit?
Frequently Asked Question

Mobile Deposit lets you deposit paper checks into your Citadel account using the Citadel Mobile App. Instead of visiting a branch or ATM, simply take photos of the front and back of your check right from your phone and deposit it directly into your account.
Mobile Deposit is only available in the app to members who are enrolled in Online & Mobile Banking.
How to deposit a check
Before submitting a mobile deposit, sign the back of your check(s) and write “Citadel Mobile Deposit.” Missing or incorrect endorsements may delay or prevent your deposit.
- Open the Citadel Mobile App and allow access to your device’s camera when prompted. Camera access is required to take photos of your check
- Select Deposit from the menu
- Choose the account you want to deposit into
- Enter the check amount
- Take clear photos of both the front and back of the check. For best results, make sure all four corners of the check are visible and use good lighting so the image is clear
- Review the details and submit your deposit
Note: Mobile deposits are reviewed to help ensure accuracy and protect your account. Some mobile deposits may require additional review, including when daily mobile deposits exceed $2,500 or total monthly mobile deposits exceed $75,000. If a deposit requires additional review, processing may take longer, and you will be notified if more information is needed. Some deposits may also be subject to standard check holds.
What types of checks can I deposit?
Mobile Deposit is designed for standard paper checks written in U.S. dollars and payable to you. You can typically deposit personal or business checks drawn on U.S. banks, credit unions, or savings and loan institutions.
Mobile Deposit cannot be used for:
- Checks payable to you and another person who is not a joint owner on the account
- Checks that appear altered, fraudulent, or unauthorized
- Foreign checks or checks not written in U.S. dollars
- Checks dated more than six months ago
- Money orders (including U.S. Postal Service money orders)
To deposit money orders and foreign checks / checks written in foreign currency, please visit the branch location nearest you. Please note that fees may apply.
About check holds
