Business Online Banking has recently changed. Here’s what it means for your business.

As of May 23, your digital experience as a business user has changed. We’ve made several important updates for our business members with this upgrade, including new and improved features, greater security, and more account management tools.

Added Security

As an added layer of security and liability protection, and to provide you with more business features, all Business and Personal account logins are now separate.

We understand everyone’s situation is different, and there are many ways to structure a business. Based on your business structure, there are also many ways to manage your finances, and it’s our goal to help protect your data privacy, security, and accurate recordkeeping no matter how your business is structured.

Registering as a Business

By enrolling as a business in Online & Mobile Banking, you can create custom users and roles within to set certain permissions, alerts, and spending limits for your team and any authorized users. Set up accounts alerts and card controls with custom notifications and spending limits for each authorized user, and view eStatements and other secure documents. You can also manage ACH origination, wire transfers, and remote deposit capture.

Frequently Asked Questions

I did not request to register my account as a business in Online & Mobile Banking prior to May 22. How can I enroll now?

If you did not register in Business Online Banking prior to May 22, you will need to enroll as a new business user and reset all details and preferences such as connecting external accounts, setting up recurring transfers, scheduling bill payments, etc. You can enroll by visiting CitadelBanking.com and selecting the ‘Log in’ button at the top of any page, then select ‘Enroll Now’. Choose ‘Register as a Business’ and follow the prompts to get set up. You will need your Business Tax ID, account number, and the social security number of an authorized signer on the account.

If your social security number is tied to multiple businesses and you are an authorized signer, you do not need to create separate Online & Mobile Banking logins for each business. We recommend you choose one entity to use as your primary login and enroll in Online & Mobile Banking using that account number and Business Tax ID. Once you’re logged in, you can then switch account profiles to toggle between business entities by selecting the profile icon in the top right corner, where you’ll see all account profiles that you are a primary or joint owner on. (If you’re in the Citadel Mobile App, select “Menu” from the bottom right corner, then “Switch Profiles”).

I have business accounts and personal accounts at Citadel. How do I see both in Online & Mobile Banking and perform transactions between both accounts?

As of May 23, all Business and Personal account logins are now separate as an added layer of security and protection. Account features differ for personal and business needs, so we have added the ability to take advantage of separate features designed specifically for businesses, such as ACH origination, wire transfers, and remote deposit capture. You will need to maintain separate logins for Business and Personal accounts, but you can transfer money between them by selecting ‘Transfer’ then ‘Member to Member Accounts’.

I own a small business without additional users or authorized signers. How does this change benefit me?

There are many ways to structure a business, and your business structure affects your personal liability. Sole proprietors, partnerships, LLCs, and corporations all offer varying degrees of personal protection from liability and debt. Separating your business and personal finances can help you maintain a clearer picture of your company’s cash flow and financial health apart from your personal assets and liabilities.

We understand everyone’s businesses are structured differently, and it’s our goal to help protect your data privacy, security, and accurate recordkeeping no matter how your business is structured. Even without additional users, you can eliminate any co-mingling of funds between business and personal entities and monitor your business expenses along the way. It also allows for increased security and data privacy between vendors and key integrations in the platform.
