EXTON, PA - Citadel senior leadership and members of its Board attended the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) last week in Washington, D.C. GAC is an annual event that brings together 5,000 leaders in the credit union industry from across the country. The event unifies credit union professionals and allows them to meet with local Congressmen and women and Senators to discuss important topics, explore trending issues, and advocate for credit union members. More than 950 credit unions are represented from all 50 states.

Key speakers at this year’s conference included General Colin Powell, Group President of Focus Brands Kat Cole, Journalist Bob Schieffer, and CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan. All of the speakers motivated the credit union industry to continue its important efforts in communities across the country. The common themes throughout the conference included the current regulatory landscape and how to protect credit union members against data breaches.

Citadel Board Members and senior leaders met with Congressman Pat Meehan, Congressman Ryan Costello, and staffers from Senator Pat Toomey’s and Senator Bob Casey’s offices to discuss various topics related specifically to Pennsylvania credit union members.
