This year’s theme is all about online safety and building a cyber strong America. By following the National Cybersecurity Alliance’s “Core 4” online safety tips, you can avoid becoming a victim of online fraud.

Core 4 Tips:

Use strong passwords:

• Make passwords at least 16 characters long and use a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.

Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA):

• Multifactor authentication (MFA) adds an essential layer of security by requiring more than just your password to log in.

Update your software:

• Updates fix security flaws that criminals exploit. They generally only take a few minutes.

Recognize and report scams:

• Recognize common scams, like phishing attempts, and report them to authorities immediately.
